Ponca City woman accused of plotting to kill ex-husband

A woman from Ponca City was arrested in connection with an obstruction charge by Ponca City and Oklahoma state authorities. The woman is currently under house arrest in a federal case in which she is accused of plotting to kill her ex-husband.

Authorities are claiming that what seemed to be an innocent Craigslist ad for someone to do a job internationally. However, when someone responded to the ad and met the woman at a local coffee house, the woman allegedly explained that she wanted to the person who responded to the ad to go to Israel and attempt to poison her ex-husband, who was a cab driver in that country. The woman's plan was to have the other person pose as a tourist, have the ex-husband drive the tourist around to see the sites but to put a deadly toxin in his coffee every morning.

Records do show that at some point, the woman and her ex-husband were in a contested custody proceeding. Supposedly, the woman even had a presentation of the job ready on PowerPoint to show the details of the task to the person responding to the ad. The person who responded to the ad contacted federal authorities.

The woman's federal case is still pending, and she is under federal house arrest until her case gets resolved. The details of her latest charge, which appears to be coming out of a state court, are not clear.

As with any criminal case, this woman is going to have the right to tell her side of the story with respect to all charges pending against her. She is innocent until proven guilty or until she admits guilt formally by signing a plea bargain. Especially given the serious nature of some of these charges, she will need a strong criminal defense.
