Are lower gas prices to blame for increase in car accidents?

According to recent statistics, there are more drivers on the road now, possibly because it is less expensive to drive than it has been in the past. It is believed that the higher number of drivers is due to cheaper gas prices, which may be the cause of a higher number of car accidents currently occurring around the nation. As more people are driving, more people are risk for injury or death.
