One-car accident leads to serious injury for occupants

Three people were injured in an single-vehicle accident in Pottawatomie County. The three vehicle occupants were all traveling in a car that left its lane. The driver was not able to correct the path of the car before it crashed into two trees. The accident victims, including one who suffered serious injury, were taken for medical treatment to a local Oklahoma hospital.

While the driver and one other passenger are listed in good condition, the second passenger remained in serious condition as of the media report concerning the accident. The nature of the injuries is not known at this time. Oklahoma law enforcement stated that they smelled alcohol in the car when they arrived at the scene. While no one has been arrested at this time, it appears there are suspicions that this accident was caused by an intoxicated driver.

Drunk driving is dangerous driving. It is an inexcusable action that can result in serious injures, catastrophic damage or even death. Drunk drivers typically exhibit erratic actions behind the wheel, including swerving, inconsistent speed and other dangerous behaviors. Victims of drunk drivers have the right to seek financial relief, including compensation for medical expenses and emotional trauma.

The consequences of drunk driving can impact a victim and his or her family for years to come. If a person suffered serious injury because of drunk driving, it is best to take quick action to protect one's legal rights. After a case evaluation, a lawyer can determine what legal options are available and take the steps necessary to seek rightful financial compensation.
