Fatal car crash in Oklahoma during police chase

A tragedy occurred in Oklahoma City on a recent Saturday night. The incident involved a vehicle that police had pulled over in a traffic stop. The events that unfolded next resulted in a fatal car crash that took two lives.

It was approximately 11 p.m. when officers made a traffic stop. They claim that they believed the driver of the vehicle to be acting under the influence of alcohol. At some point during the traffic stop, the driver of the car is said to have sped away from the scene.

Police are said to have then pursued the vehicle in a chase. Not long into the pursuit, the fleeing vehicle reportedly smashed into a concrete post. Upon impact, the vehicle went into a series of rollovers. A woman riding as a passenger in the car was ejected. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle.

Neither the driver nor the passenger survived the crash. No personal information regarding their identities was released to the public. A fatal car crash in Oklahoma that is believed to have been caused by an intoxicated driver can leave a path of devastation in its wake. Grief-stricken families may take comfort in knowing that an immediate family member is able to seek justice by filing a wrongful death claim against all parties deemed negligent on behalf of his or her deceased loved one; in this case, the passenger's family may have grounds for such a claim. This enables a family to seek restitution for the damages sustained because of the accident, including but not limited to funeral costs, lost wages, loss of consortium and emotional trauma.
