Distracted driving and car accidents: a continuing problem

Oklahoma readers know that distracted driving is a growing concern for drivers across the country. Any additional activity while driving, including texting, talking on the phone or eating, can take a driver's eyes off the road, increasing the odds of car accidents. Studies have shown that teenagers are the most likely to drive while distracted. 

Fatal car crash in Wister claims two lives

Two Oklahoma residents recently died in an accident that involved three vehicles. The accident caused traffic along Oklahoma 271 to be diverted for several hours as law enforcement officials investigated the incident. At this point, an investigation is still pending regarding the cause of the fatal car crash

Elderly Oklahoma man loses his life in fatal car crash

An elderly man from Lexington lost his life after a fatal car crash occurred along Banner Road. The fatal car crash happened after a pickup truck crossed into oncoming traffic. The truck collided head on with a sedan driven by an elderly man, and the elderly Oklahoma man died at the scene of the accident. 

Child suffers potentially serious injury in car collision

A recent accident in Deer Creek sent five people to the hospital for treatment, including four children. According to Oklahoma law enforcement, the collision occurred as a sports utility vehicle struck another vehicle. The driver of the SUV declined medical treatment, but one child was flown to the hospital for a potentially serious injury.
