Oklahoma worker electrocuted while working on home

An Oklahoma City resident was electrocuted while working under a house in the northwest area of the city the morning of Sept. 17. Emergency responders were sent to the home just before noon and were able to locate the man shortly afterward. It is unclear whether the man died at the scene or upon arrival at the hospital.

Damages awarded after a successful wrongful death case

When a person is killed because of another individual's act of negligence or omission, Oklahoma statutes allow a representative of the deceased to pursue a civil action against the allegedly at-fault party in court. If the action is successful, the claimant may be awarded a number of damages associated with the death. The damages that may be recoverable through a lawsuit can vary depending on the case.
