A Texas man has been arrested after an accident in Louisiana. The man, who investigators believe was intoxicated, was driving the wrong way on an interstate. While the man was driving the wrong way, a semi swerved to miss his car and flipped his truck. The car then continued the wrong way and struck another semi head-on. A third accident occurred when a car rear-ended a semi that had slowed down while approaching the accident scene.
The drivers involved in the Oct. 14 accident only suffered minor injuries. The 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless operation and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. It took crews several hours to clear the accident scene.
Driving the wrong way on an interstate is a dangerous situation, and it is fortunate that no one was seriously injured during the incident. However, those who suffered injuries and damage to vehicles are will within their rights to seek compensation for their losses. These people could seek payment for any medical bills, expenses to repair or replace their vehicles or any other expense incurred because of the negligent actions of the wrong-way driver.
Anyone who is the victim of an accident has the legal right to seek compensation. An experienced legal professional can assist a person with determining their rights and figuring out what expenses they are entitled to. These professionals can also help a person decide if seeking compensation is in their best interest.
